1. Hi! My name is Brianna but most people call me Bria. Though this blog is for educational purposes, I hope to have a blog of my own one day. I love all things art, writing, music, food, and culture, especially Italian. After graduating I plan to teach English as a secondary language abroad in Italy. Another career goal of mine is to work as a journalist for a food and health magazine. My favorite musical artists are Tamino and Mitski, and my favorite pastimes are reading at coffee shops and cooking.
2. I am very well-versed with technology in educational settings, as I have gone through different types of schooling that have required different software and applications. I am familiar with all the micro applications of Word, outside websites like Pimsleur, Canvas, and Prezi, and social media such as Pinterest, Instagram, and Facebook. A major facet of educational technology that I am not as familiar with is Twitter. I have never downloaded this app, but I know that many teachers use it to communicate with other instructors. It also is a good place for staying up to date about the recent news in your field of instruction.
3. A major resource that I use as part of my PLN is YouTube. Educational videos about topics that pique my interest have guided me as I have narrowed down my career path and goals. I also use outside sources such as clubs, advisors, and friends as elements of my PLN. For instance, since learning Italian is one of my main educational goals currently, I regularly binge YouTube videos of Italian "day in the life" vlogs, lifestyle videos, and language lessons. In addition, I seek immersion in Italian clubs on campus and apps such as Clozemaster that help me practice my language skills.
Hi Bria! Pinterest is also one of the social medias I like to use, and Youtube had also been very helpful to me. I think your career choices are really cool and Italian culture is probably so fascinating.
ReplyDeleteHey Bria! I think it's great that you've had so much experience with different software and applications already! I know we are supposed to be the generation that's the best with that, but I am simply not there. YouTube is a great way to find information on how to do things. Also, super cool that you want to learn Italian!
ReplyDeleteHi Bria! I am amazed by your passion for traveling and wanting to experience different cultures! I also want to be a teacher and being able to travel around inspiring and teaching other kids. It has always been in my interest to help other kids, especially those in third world countries. I believe that Youtube is very helpful and provides millions of resources for educational purposes.
