 1. My experience with distance learning began in 2020 in my freshman year of high school. When schools shut down and moved to virtual learning, my school taught classes through Zoom. There is absolutely nothing I like about distance learning. I feel that it disconnects me from the material being taught and does not hold me accountable for doing the work. I will say that Zoom is much better than asynchronous learning. That being said, a way to improve the experience of my student's online learning is to ensure I can still have face-to-face conversations with them over Zoom regularly. 

2. Open educational resources are resources online that are completely accessible, editable, and resellable to the public. An example of an OER that we have worked with in this class is anything licensed by Creative Commons. This website: https://raccoongang.com/blog/quick-list-open-educational-resources-examples/ is a full rundown of what OERs are, examples, and the benefits of using them for faculty and students. Exploring resources like these enhances collaborative learning environments and fosters a uniform education in schools around the world.

3. The PowerPoint assignment was the first time I have approached an assignment from the lens of creating something to teach others. The hardest part of this assignment for me was choosing a topic that I felt confident enough in to be able to teach. And furthermore knowing how to break down the material between the slides. For the next PowerPoint assignment, I am going to try to employ OERs for the content of my PowerPoint.

 1. The Florida Computer Science Standards for grades 6-8 is the step over the threshold where students begin to create, explore, and analyze certain elements of technology. Students in these grade levels are expected to logistically analyze and utilize technological functions such as search webs and creation platforms. An emphasized topic of study is understanding the steps to problem solve without being told explicitly, or in other words, intrinsic problem-solving.  1. Hi! My name is Brianna but most people call me Bria. Though this blog is for educational purposes, I hope to have a blog of my own one day. I love all things art, writing, music, food, and culture, especially Italian. After graduating I plan to teach English as a secondary language abroad in Italy. Another career goal of mine is to work as a journalist for a food and health magazine. Blog Post 2

 1. I find that the difference in technology usage in schools lies greatly in where the school is located. For instance, I grew up in New Jersey where throughout Elementary school we used Google applications for all our work (Google Docs, Google Classroom, Google Email, etc.) When I moved to Florida for middle school, I had a rough transition to Blackboard, Word, and eventually Canvas. While I am now well-versed in all these applications, I can confidently say that I prefer Google over Microsoft. Maybe it is the familiarity since my mind's first perception of educational technology was Google. But now, even today, as I do assignments in college, I find that Google Docs has a more user-friendly outline and way fewer crashes and malfunctions than Word.  2.
