Blog post 6

1. I had never heard of Diigo before this assignment. I am still not sure I quite understand what exactly it is and all of its uses, but from what I can tell so far, it seems like a great website for collaborative research and education. I would utilize this website if I were compiling a list of sources for either a personal paper or a group project. I both do and do not like the website format/presentation of Diggo. It does not appear to be very user-friendly, however, by the same measure, it appears very academic database-looking. Once I figured out how to navigate the website, it was gratifying to use. 

2. Blogging is a form of writing I want to get more practice with, especially since my career goals align with informal/personal writing. What I like about blogging is it allows for the influence of personal bias and anecdotes. What I do not like, is that is not a very private practice, so you have to be mindful about your audience, whoever they might be. What I have learned about in the blogging process is that there is never a lack of things to talk about; something can always be said about everything. 

3. A web 2.0 tool that I find particularly interesting is Quizlet. This tool can be used in a myriad of ways from school-related information to personal subjects of interest. I will use Quizlet when I am teaching by creating a class group that all my students will join and create collaborative study guides. In class, we can conduct group study sessions and games using the website. There is also a premium version of Quizlet that I can try to get paid for by the school. https://quizlet.com/

    Hi! This is my first time as well using a resource like this. It is very interesting to learn about how many different types of outlets there are on the internet. I believe that Quizlet is a very helpful tool. It has been around for years and helps students build very helpful study habits. I believe that blogging is very interesting because it is allows you to connect with other people who share similar interests.

Students in these grade levels are expected to logistically analyze and utilize technological functions such as search webs and creation platforms.  1. Hi! My name is Brianna but most people call me Bria. Though this blog is for educational purposes, I hope to have a blog of my own one day. I love all things art, writing, music, food, and culture, especially Italian. After graduating I plan to teach English as a secondary language abroad in Italy. Blog Post 2

 1. I find that the difference in technology usage in schools lies greatly in where the school is located. For instance, I grew up in New Jersey where throughout Elementary school we used Google applications for all our work (Google Docs, Google Classroom, Google Email, etc.) When I moved to Florida for middle school, I had a rough transition to Blackboard, Word, and eventually Canvas. While I am now well-versed in all these applications, I can confidently say that I prefer Google over Microsoft. Maybe it is the familiarity since my mind's first perception of educational technology was Google. But now, even today, as I do assignments in college, I find that Google Docs has a more user-friendly outline and way fewer crashes and malfunctions than Word.  2.
