1. As an educator, it is important to consider and respect the laws and guidelines of copyright. Though I am not yet in the field, I can imagine is very tempting to use other teachers' materials, especially in situations where you are pressed for time. I think before the year starts, I would do an assessment of all the materials I need for the semester and what I can use from past teachers and online sources. From there, I would begin to make all the materials I still need after gathering everything I am legally allowed to use. My students however would need to produce their own works if I provided them with examples and all the materials they need to do their assignments.
2. A major issue when technology is implemented in the classroom is cyberbullying. To prevent this from happening, I would make sure to establish a firm relationship with my students rooted in communication and trust with both me and their fellow classmates. I would also ensure that I am approachable and able to be trusted with confidential information. I would promise my students that their reports would stay anonymous and that I would only bring issues to my superiors when they are severe.
3. I believe that generative AI is really useful for students learning when used properly. I would take the initiative to educate my students on all the ways they can use AI both in the classroom and out. Supplying them with these methods will open their minds to how technology can be used in a way that is not inherently rebellious. However, I don't want to promote reliance on technology, so I would also educate on the dangers of dependence on technology and the punishments for plagiarism.
4. In all honesty, the newsletter design assignment was not easy for me. I'm not sure if it is a problem I have with my computer specifically, but I struggle a lot with Word. I had a hard time with making two columns, and then formatting my banner around that. I also struggled to fit everything onto two pages and make it aesthetic to the eye. In the future, I think I will use a different software, such as Google Docs because I am better acquainted with it. But overall, it was definitely good to get a feel for how teacher format their class newsletters.
